The Ducks Are Coming...

The Ducks Are Coming...that was the theme this year for the Boulder Creekfest's Duck Race and how could I NOT love this festival?!  The Boulder Creekfest happens every year during the Memorial Day weekend and the duck race follows the Bolder Boulder that takes place on Monday morning.  Six years ago I met John at the Boulder Creekfest for the first time through our mutual friend Kostas.  We clicked and had a great time at the festival. There are hundreds of craft tents and food tents and people with dogs everywhere.  There are booths for everything from expensive jewelry to hippie remedies.  If nothing else, it's a great place to people watch and hang out with friends.  John and I go to the Creekfest every year and this year our friends Billy and Laura came with us.  We met them at the festival and we walked through every booth, tent, and food vendor.  John got a great cob of corn that was so delicious he didn't want to share, which I can't blame him I guess.  The picture below is a new event at Creekfest.  You get zipped up in this clear ball and rolled out onto the water.  Then it's just like bumper cars only with water.

That night we went to our friends, The Andrews, house for dinner.  Casey is a great cook and he grilled us an awesome Surf and Turf meal.  Ian and Milo were a lot of fun to hang out and as usual they always make us laugh.  Two Friday's ago I babysat the boys and we had a great time learning about the hose outside.  When I got there we spent a lot of time swinging in the tree swing and playing in the dirt.  Then Ian asked to turn on the hose and the fun began.  He tried the different speeds and designs and sprayed the brick on the house to make shapes.  He also discovered that if you point it straight up the water comes back down and splashes you.  We even drank from the hose.  I don't remember the last time I drank from the hose but the moment the water hit my lips I thought, "yup, this is exactly how I remember hose water to taste." ha ha The boys loved doing that the best and when it was time to put the hose up Ian said, "man that was good!"  ha ha We ended the night with the first part of the Wizard of Oz and the boys crashed after a long night of playing in the water.
Ian and Milo watching The Wizard of Oz!
