M-I-Z!! Z-O-U!!!
Every school has a chant and M-I-Z-Z-O-U is the most populate chant from the Missouri University students at football and basketball games. The Border War between Missouri University and Kansas University started long before either University was established. Long story-short, The Border War has been intense since day one of athletics at the Universities and to this day people are still passionate about their school pride. Unfortunately this is the last year that Missouri will be in the Big 12 because they are moving to the SEC Conference and Kansas has decided they no longer want to carry on the tradition. (I'm also sad that they won't be coming to Colorado University this year since it's so close to me) We have been MU Tiger fans since my dad accepted a scholarship there back in the early 70's. He was offered a scholarship in both basketball and football but eventually found his calling in football, even playing on the 1970 Orange Bowl team. Just as the Border War is coming to an end, the Brown Family has found a renewed dedication to the Tigers. My little bro, Mack, was offered a Graduate position with the MU football team this year and we are so excited for this new chapter in his life! He's been living in Columbia for a few months now and I think he's really enjoying himself! He likes his new roommate, the coaching staff, and his buds Brett and Chad are down there as well. We are really excited to see what the year holds for Mack and the Tigers.

Unfortunately the Border War is officially over this year and Missouri won one of the two battles at home. They lost last Saturday by one point in Kansas. It was a great game and the MU basketball team looked great too! Yesterday Missouri released their new SEC football schedule which you can see below. Missouri has 7 home games this year so that's good news for anyone wanting to travel down to Columbia for a game.I also discovered their football blog called "Missouri Football Blog". You can click here to go to the page or copy and paste this link http://blog.wearemizzou.com/ into your browser above. Save this link if you want updated Tiger football information because they update the blog regularly.

All in all the Brown Family is excited for Mack's new adventure with the Tigers and football season this year. One cool factor so far in Mack's experience with the Tigers is outside his office. The 1970 Orange Bowl picture, where our dad is apart of the team, hangs outside Mack's office. It's really cool to see exactly when our family became apart of the MU family 40 years ago and now we are back again with MU in 2012 with a new Brown generation! I'm excited to be able to watch Mack's games on TV this year and hopefully travel to a few as well. So grab your Black and Gold and get your Tiger paws ready because it's going to be a great season this year!
