What a fast two weeks it has been and now that we are into February (the shortest month of the year) it’s going to get even shorter.
Two weeks ago my friend Melissa had her 3_ birthday at the bowling alley in town. Us, along with 2 other couples, met after work and had a great time bowling. I came in 3rd the first game and ended up smack in the middle the second game. After bowling we had dinner in downtown Longmont and checked out a new bar called 3’s where we walked in and promptly walked out. Two days later Melissa’s son turned 3 and we had a great time at their house for his party. He loves trucks right now so Melissa and her mom went all out on the construction and truck theme. They had plastic hard hats for the kids to decorate, caution tape all over the house, and Melissa’s mom made an awesome birthday cake.

Last weekend my friend Erin and I traveled to Chicago for our friend Kristie’s 30th birthday. We arrived late Friday night and left late Sunday afternoon but we had a lot of fun in those short hours. We had deep dish Chicago pizza and shopped on the Miracle Mile. For Kristie’s birthday we had Tea at a fancy hotel in town and it was a really cool experience. Each of us had our own pot of tea and a ton of baby appetizers. We were full of delicious food, warm tea and good friends. Kristie’s friend Kate joined us for the trip and her mom and sisters joined us for tea. It was great to be back in Chicago and experiencing new things.

Work has gotten very busy these past few weeks. We have been preparing for a big project and it’s finally starting. It keeps me very busy and challenges me every day. One good thing about work is that I really like my coworkers and we try to get in a few laughs every day. Lately it’s been freezing in Colorado (-10 degrees freezing to be exact) but I can’t complain because we didn’t have the snow storm that Kansas City had. The schools in Colorado were closed for a few days because it was below zero but thankfully we didn’t have the snow and ice to deal with.
Other than birthdays and work I have been sleeping or eating. Ha ha I will definitely be watching the Super Bowl this year. John and I were invited to my friend Melissa’s house and her whole family is HUGE Packers fan. Since the Chiefs and Saints are not in the Super Bowl this year I am definitely rooting for the Packers. Coach McCarthy is a Baker University alumni so I will be wearing my blue and orange in support of Green Bay. (I also don’t have any Green Bay stuff and the city is practically sold out. Ha ha)
