The Happenings

It's been a long time since I last blogged so here is what's been happening.

In early October I took a four day weekend and headed to Breckenridge with The Andrews Family.  Melissa & Casey had a family event there and I went along to watch their sons Ian & Milo.  They weather was really great and Ian was a big help with Milo.

The next week Amy & I started our Midwest Road Trip to Kansas City.  The mission was Maple Leaf and I am confident we conquered it this year.  We took Amy to Arthur Bryant's & Oklahoma Joe's for some KC BBQ.  She was hooked after that.  (We purchased a lot of BBQ sauce to bring home)  We also got to see my Grandma, Grandad, his friend Evelyn, and The Brown Family - Aaron, Karla, Alec, Shelby, & Tyler.  It was great to see everyone and get to spend some time together.

The next week Amy and I packed up our 4 bedroom house and moved 20 miles north to Longmont.  We are now in a 3 bedroom apartment and really enjoying it so far.  We live in a great part of Longmont with a lot of shopping and restaurant options.  The drive is the same amount of time but with an even better view. (pictures to come)

The weekend before Thanksgiving Dad, Mack, and I flew to New Orleans to watch the Saints with our friend Jerod Kruse. I have never been to New Orleans before so I was really excited for the whole experience and the town didn't disappoint.  The Saints won and the entire game experience was amazing.  We had sideline passes where I got my picture with Christian Slater and we had great seats. We stayed until Tuesday and spent most of our time riding the trolleys to great shops and restaurants.  We ate amazing food at every place we went and the people there are so nice.  I experienced Bourbon Street in full glory and also saw local bands in the locals version of Bourbon Street.

We flew back into Denver on Tuesday night and while I was at work on Wednesday the boys drove to the airport to pick up mom.  From there we did more shopping and good eating.  Dad finally got to experience lagasna night at Pasta Jays which is only served on Wednesdays.  He said it was their best dish.  We had Thanksgiving lunch at The Westin again and it was their best meal yet. We stuffed ourselves silly and headed back upstairs to watch the Saints beat Dallas.  Black Friday was eventful and successful for me thanks to mom, Mack, and John.  We hopped in the car at 3:30am and headed to Target to be the 500+ person to enter the store at 4am.  But it all paid off because I got their best deal ever...a 40 inch TV.  Mom held her ground and we got the last one.  I was so excited. We finally headed back to the hotel at 11am for some major shut eye.  Everyone went home on Saturday but we had a great time.  It was a full week of fun for me starting in New Orleans and ending with my family in town for the holidays.

After I dropped my parents off at the airport John and I headed to Black Hawk for our friend Brad's birthday.  We stayed at the America Star Casino with Brad and his wife Alisha and had a great time.  We ate at the buffet, sat in the hot tub outside in the cold, and gambled the night away.  It was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to doing it again.

Sunday was a much needed day of rest because this week has been already been a busy one.  Today was month end and tomorrow is my holiday party.  Time to break out the nice clothes.
