It has definitely been a busy few weeks for me and John. Last week we went to John's favorite bar in Lafayette and then we went to mine in Boulder. My co-worker Dan plays in a band called Flashback and they are actually really good. They play 80's and 90's music at local bars or pizza joints on the weekends and John and I try to go whenever we can. This week Dan's band played at Dillingers which is John's favorite bar in Lafayette so we went for dinner and some live music with some of my other co-workers. After dinner we drove to Boulder for our friend Amanda's going away party at The Rio. The margarettas were delicious as usual and it was cool to see our friends outside of work.

John's summer Softball league has already started and so far they are doing pretty good. Unfortunately John jammed his finger pretty good at the last game and he has been wearing a splint ever since. The good news is that he still has his range of motion and the swelling and bruising have gone down significantly over the past few days but I am still encouraging him to go see a doctor just in case.
Not broken...just swollen and HUGE
Last week my friends Melissa and Casey celebrated their wedding anniversary so John and I offered to babysit Ian (aka Awesome!) for the night. After dinner, pony rides, and a motorcycle ride, Ian was finally ready for bed. John and Ian read "Hands Are Not For Hitting" before bed time and then Ian went right to sleep in his crib. He is so much fun to be around now that he talks and plays. Even though we don't get to see Ian very much he always remembers me and John by name which makes me feel special. We also brought him a Colorado Rockies hat so he can be prepared for his first Rockies game but Ian was so fast I couldn't get a picture of it.

This is a picture of him falling off in slow motion.
You can almost see three different Ian's in the picture.
On Saturday my friend Bree had a beach themed birthday party. Her finance made fish, salmon, crab cakes, and muscles for everyone at the party. John, of course, had McDonalds before the party but I ate every piece of seafood that I could find. I helped Bree cook the muscles which was a new experience for me. I had no idea they were that easy to make or that good!

On Tuesday John's General Manager at Toyota gave him tickets for the Rockies game that night. They were Suite Level tickets which means that the Rockies provided free food, drinks, and a nice suite to sit in during the game. I drove straight from work, in the pouring rain, during rush hour to make it to the game on time. I parked my car in the lot and walked through the pouring rain to the stadium with my special ticket in hand. Just as I hand my ticket to the gate keeper they cancel the game. Soaked and tired we head back home and keep our fingers crossed that the game will be played the next day as a double header.
It looked promising but they still canceled the game
Wednesday arrives and once again it's pouring rain in Denver but the Rockies push through and play their first game at 1:05pm. Olivo (former Royals catcher) hits a Walk Off Homerun in the bottom of the 10th to win the game. Everyone is excited for the next game to start including me and John who finally made it to the Suite Level after another day spent in rush hour traffic and getting soaked in the rain. Unfortunately they postponed the game so John and I enjoyed hot dogs and Coors in the nice warm suite while we waited. An hour and half later they decided to cancel the game again and make it up at a later date. I was just glad I got to experience the Suite for the first (and probably only) time. Unfortunately the workers are not allowed to take home the leftover food from the suite so John and I loaded our pockets with all the cookies in the Suite and headed home.
The Toyota Suite. It's like flying First Class on an airplane.
Once you ride First Class, you can never go back to Coach.
