On Saturday my friends Erin and Eric had a wine party. Kristie came over to my house early and road down to Denver with John and I. There was a small group of couples at the party and we taste tested wines and rated them. Afterwards we played dice which is a really fun group game. We had a lot of fun on Saturday and it was great to see Erin and Eric since we don't get to see them much with our busy schedules.
On Sunday we had a cookie party at our house. My roommate Amy made a bunch of sugar cookies and we invited a bunch of people over to decorate. All of our friends showed up and we had so much fun decorating all the cookies with icing. Sarah and Courtney brought over a bunch of colored icing and we had snowmen, trees, angles, stars and other Christmas themed cookies. Here are a few pictures of the cookies I decorated.
After the party John and I drove to Central City/Blackhawk were we ate the buffet at the America Star Casino and played the slots a little bit. John and I love their buffet even though it's a little expensive. And I am very impressed with the way John can make $20 stretch for over an hour while playing penny slots.

On Tuesday we had my company party which was surprisingly a good time. My co-workers band, called Flashback, played and they are always good to listen to. They play all the good songs that everyone knows and can dance to. Since the entire sales department consists of me and 5 guys, John loves going to work functions because he likes all the guys I work with. We had a great time and made plans to see everyone on Saturday...but that's for another blog.
The Rembrant Yard...where we had our company party
Yesterday at work we had a potluck lunch and it was a huge success. My coworker Dan smoked pulled pork and it was just like being home in Kansas City. He let me taste test it early in the morning and it was so good I almost ate it for breakfast. I made No Bake Cookies (my specialty because it's the only thing I know how to make) and added almond flavored vanilla by accident but they were a huge success. I am going to start using almond flavor from now on.
I am not the only Brown family member who has been busy. The new generation of athletes in the Brown family have definitely been busy too. Jacob and Tyler both played in an All Star football tournament during Thanksgiving break in Blue Springs, MO. Jacob's team took second place, which is AWESOME, and Tyler's team took 3rd place in the 15 and Under group. (I can't believe Tyler is old enough to play in the 15 and Under league. They grow up so fast!!) Since football is wrapped for the season Tyler and Alec started their Wrestling season off with a bang. As of last week Alec was 1-0 in his wrestling matches and they have at least 10 more matches and tournaments before the holiday break.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and not getting too stressed out. This weekend is filled with more parties, Christmas shopping, and getting accustom to our new cat at the house. My roommate Amy brought home a new kitty last night and I'll post pictures once he gets settled in. For now..here's a picture of our other kitty Max wishing you Happy Holidays.
Happy Holidays from Santa Claws!
